INNOVA
EDUCATIONAL NETWORK |
|
Through
the INNOVA Center, the BCSD-LA NETWORK coordinates
private-sector participation in educational projects. The
Center has also developed a network of individuals and educational
institutions all over Latin America that share an interest
in and commitment to education and to preparing new generations
for a sustainable future. Known as the INNOVA Educational
Network, it maintains close daily contact with the BCSD-LA
NETWORK. Through the INNOVA Educational Network,
the INNOVA Center facilitates joint efforts between
the academic and private sectors to educate new generations
for the sustainable development of Latin American societies.

Through
the INNOVA Center for Sustainable Development, the
BCSD-LA has promoted the creation of the INNOVA
Social Network. Its purpose is to coordinate the efforts
of the business sector with organizations, foundations, individuals
whose common goal is to wipe out poverty and ignorance and
open up opportunities for all members of society. It is through
this combined effort that the BCSD-LA articulates its
contributes to real social development for Latin America.

The
BCSD-LA believes that resources for protecting and
improving health should be accessible to everyone. This is
one of the essential elements for truly sustainable development.
Each day, science is contributing new solutions to health
problems, but they take several years to be disseminated within
the medical community. This delay has huge costs in social,
economic and human terms, which are particularly onerous in
developing countries. With the aim of narrowing this information
gap and improving the training of physicians and health-care
professionals, the BCSD-LA, in association with Obstetrix
Pediatrix and their International subsidiary, and through
the INNOVA Center for Sustainable Development, created
the INNOVA Medical World Network.
The
objective of the INNOVA Medical World Network is to
create an INTERNET-based communications infrastructure where
participants from different countries and cultures may offer
the required technology to other colleagues. This will allow
physicians to concentrate on providing services under the best
conditions, based on most information and experience possible.
At the same time, this program opens a communications channel
so that participating physicians can share the experiences they
had when applying information obtained through the INNOVA
Network, thus providing feedback to the system and expanding
the base of experience among its members. The INNOVA Medical
World Network has created a web site: http://www.nataldoc.com.
